Shooting from the rooftops of Yu Yuan Garden in 2010. Back then, creating panoramas like this was a long, convoluted manual process (these days, there is a host of software that can create panospheres in just a few seconds – using your camera or mobile phone). For the image above, I took six photographs which, when stitched together, formed one long panoramic image. I then folded that panorama in on itself – creating a perfect globe or planet. I prefer half worlds as apposed to full circles – so I removed the bottom half. In all about twenty minutes work.
